So a very quick update. Sad things first. :( My mom had to put down one of her dogs a few weeks ago. He went downhill so fast, his organs were failing and the vet told her it was for the best. :( She is still distraught over the loss and keeps his ashes on the mantle.
This morning she made me cry by telling me they were checking my grandmother for pneumonia and that was what killed my grandpapa. It was just too much detail for my poor sleep deprived brain.
My sister has decided to sell her house because traffic will be increasing in her neighborhood. I still live in an apartment and this is her second house in five years so color me annoyed and jealous.
My website got royally frakked up when a malicious code was introduced. Had finally got a decent amount of members right as it happened. The mod I mentioned in a previous post didn't let the stupid crap die down from before and did a lot of sneaky things and so we had a lot of backbiting.
Will skip the part about BIL humiliating me in front of a family member so my BP doesn't spike.
Will be heading to AZ on Tuesday, coming back the 26th. Any recommendations for things to do in Chandler or Phoenix? I might go back to rawhide and attempt to eat rattlesnake. Not sure I feel up for trying rocky mountain oysters. :-P

Is this the month from hell? My sister called earlier and I thought she was returning the call I had made about dad's dog. So I gave her a shock with the news and she started to cry and said she had bad news as well. I thought her father in law had died or something had happened with the dog they had adopted a while back.
She had to put Patsy down yesterday. :( Patsy was one of the two kittens she got from Fantasia's(my old cat that dad still has)litter. From what she told me he must have been ill for quite a while and they didn't notice until it was too late.
He couldn't breathe well and his balance was off. The initial vet they went to told them he had a cold but Katherine and her dh went for a second opinion and they found a tumor on his chest and drained a few ounces of fluid out of him. :( His one lung had collapsed and after draining the fluid out they found that the tumor was close to his heart and told them that keeping him alive was just prolonging his agony.
He was her baby. :( She loves the other cat but Patsy was her little man. :( I just feel so bad for her. :( She had him since '95. :( I've gotten so paranoid about who will be the next to die. The one cat we adopted a few months ago is acting off and I am worried sick she will be next.

I was hoping my first lj post of 2008 would be happy and have held back from posting drama or sad things.
But the dog I wrote about a few months ago died yesterday. :-'( I had a bad feeling since I hadn't heard from my dad. He returned my call a little while ago and when I asked about Managua there was a long pause and it took dad a few starts to get out the news that he had passed on. From what I could gather they had tried to remove the growth on his neck and dad took him home and had been trying to get him to eat and drink and walked him outside so he could use the bathroom and when he came back in he suffered a heart attack. :( The poor little baby boy. My dad could barely talk and had to change the subject. We all loved him so much and for dad to lose him so close after Bob is heartbreaking.
I had hoped we would have had a chance to make it out to OK in the coming months to see Managua one last time. :(

I started to post yesterday asking for prayers for my dad's animals. One was having kidney issues and the other a combo of heart issues and a tumor on his neck. :(
I called my aunt a short time ago and Bob didn't make it. His poor kidneys were just too far gone and dad spent the last few hours trying to get him to take water. :( Dad is just crushed right now and it seems that poor Managua's tumor may not be treatable. Dad will talk to the Vet later about possibly doing surgery.
They have had so many shocks in the past few months. Nanook, my cousin's wolf developed cancer and they tried to save him but it was too late, one of their cats died suddenly and one of their dogs got out and never came back. :(
RIP Bob and Nanook and Ricky. :(

Mike and I went to the isles/caps game last night with one of his old friends. We had some time to kill so we ended up grabbing something to eat around the corner. There was a man who kept opening the door and I couldn't quite make out what he said when we went in but we were going to make sure to hand him money on the way out.
A great deal of the customers who left handed him cash and then this asshat said watch this to his buddy, walked out and went "hey!" and flipped a coin at the guy and walked off cackling. Thankfully the man didn't dive for it like the creep had hoped. His friend picked it up for the man as well as handing him more so at least he wasn't high on the dickhead meter like his friend. Took everything I had to not go after the jackass and tell him off(which I have done in the past) His actions were unnecessary and cruel, he could have just walked out and ignored the guy.
What makes people act like that?
I left Mike and his friend to go chat up the man outside. I apologized for the man's actions and he said that he had been expecting something like that from him. I'm guessing he gets jerks like that often.
